Walking with Moms Begins at Home
Tonight Chris Padgett started by putting everything into perspective. Very simply put; Love God. Love others.
Easier said than done, however it is what we have been called to do by Christ.
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
As Chris mentioned, “we can go a whole lifetime without really getting to know the people who are right next to us” and perhaps that is the very sport which we should begin.
Chris shared with us about how he and his wife Linda have cultivated a Culture of Life in their home, with their family, and in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy.
Islands of Mercy in a Sea of Indifference
Next we were joined by Mary Varni of the Respect Life Apostolate. Encouraged by her childhood story of being brave and writing the president of the United States, Mary encouraged all listeners to never doubt how a small act of courage can change the lives of others.
During this USCCB’s year of Walking with Moms we look to a quote from Pope Francis to guide us,
How greatly I desire that all places where the Church is present, especially our parishes in our communities, may become islands of mercy in the sea of indifference.
How can you be an island of mercy in your community? Check out ways to get involved and see all that the Respect Life Apostolate is up to here!
