Last night we had the privilege of having a closing mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. As we have all returned home, we remember this pilgrimage we made, why we made it, and we continue to fight for life at all stages back in St. Louis. A big thank you to the OYM, our volunteers, youth ministers, campus ministers, and chaperones for all of their work they did to make this pilgrimage happen and how they provide us with such a great witness to the fight for life and faith.

Guess what time it is? VOCATION APPRECIATION TIME! We are so thankful to all the wonderful priests and religious sisters who joined us on this pilgrimage!! Whether hosting our programming, performing the sacrament of confession, or marching next to us, this experience wouldn’t be what it is without you! Thank you!

We ended the day praising the one who knew us even before He formed us in our mother’s womb. What a great way to conclude a day of standing up for life!!

Tonight we had a little Price is Right competition with a game of High Low. Then we got to hear from Dr. Pat Castle, the founder of Life Runners. He spoke to us about the work he does fighting for the unborn and “Living Pro-Life with Heroic Virtue”.

What a joy to march for life! Every human being has dignity and deserves respect from the moment of conception to natural death. Love is at the center of why we marched today, and love is the reason we will continue to defend the sanctity of human life.

Started the morning off with mass and a wonderful homily from Archbishop Rozanski. Archbishop Rozanski’s message was a reminder that this March for Life both tells of our love for life, and serves as a witness to what life truly is. Now we are sent forth to march and stand up for the right to life for the whole life.

Last night we had the privilege of hearing from a very special speaker Immaculée Ilibagiza. She spoke about her experience in the Rwandan genocide and how it lead to a deepening of her faith and taught her to forgive. She reminded us that being Generation Life means recognizing the dignity of every human person.

We started off programming tonight with some praise and worship. After that, we headed into a South County Showdown and a game of “Take a Chance or Do a Dance.” Hosts Father Fallon and Sister Karolyn asked each group some fun trivia questions where our groups got to show off their knowledge….and their dance moves.

After a long bus ride, we have arrived in DC! Can’t wait for programming tonight!

Tonight we gathered for mass at a few different churches in the diocese in order to prepare for the pilgrimage ahead. Then, we loaded into buses and set off for a night of traveling to DC. See you all tomorrow!!

Here we go, Generation Life 2021!!! Join us in our opening prayer that comes from “Evangelium Vitae” written by St. John Paul II:

Mary, bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
